Completes STS and RTG Crane Relocation and Installation Project at CHP Port – Hai Phong

PLC Heavy Lifting Services JSC has completed the entire scope of work involving the discharge, installation, and technical commissioning of 6 STS cranes and 24 RTG cranes at CHP Port – Hai Phong. The successful completion supports the port’s scheduled operation timeline and enhances its container handling capacity.

Strategic Role and Location of CHP Port

CHP Port is located in the central area of Hai Phong’s port system and is currently one of the largest and most important deep-water container ports in Northern Vietnam. With the ability to accommodate mother vessels and its modern infrastructure, CHP plays a key role in the international logistics network, helping reduce pressure on traditional ports and boosting regional trade.

Project Overview

Crane Manufacturer: Mitsui E&S (MES E&S) – Japan
Authorized Dealer in Vietnam: Huynh Thy Group
End User: CHP Port – Hai Phong
Equipment Quantity: 6 STS cranes and 24 RTG cranes
Crane Types:
- STS (Ship-To-Shore): Operated at the quay for vessel-to-shore container handling
- RTG (Rubber-Tired Gantry): Used in the container yard for stacking and retrieval

Scope of Work by PLC

PLC Heavy Lifting Services JSC was responsible for the full technical execution of the project, including:

Removing lashing systems and securing cranes on the vessel
Transferring 6 STS and 24 RTG cranes from vessel to quay positions
Mechanical assembly, electrical and control system connections, and final adjustments
Load testing, trial operation, calibration, and final handover to the client

Project Outcome

The implementation was completed on schedule and met all required technical standards. The cranes were delivered in stable working condition, ready for immediate operation.
